How do I get there? Specific directions to club.Located inside Campland on the Bay at 2211 Pacific Beach Drive. Upon arriving at Campland, you can drive up to the gate in Lane 2. Tell the guard you are with San Diego Outrigger. Continue straight until you hit the beach, then turn right.

What are the physical requirements? We ask, at minimum, that you be mentally and physically comfortable in open water with an ability to tread or float. All crews are sent out with life jackets and safety equipment. If you have any specific injuries (past or present) or any physical limitations please let us know in advance.
-
What do I wear? What do I bring? At a minimum, we recommend water-specific attire such as boardshorts or athletic leggings and a water bottle. Many people prefer a light top and hat, especially during the summer months. Don't forget suncreen. If you don't have a paddle, you can use a club paddle (first come first serve). There are full restroom and shower facilities so feel free to bring a towel and a change of clothes if you like!
-
Can I buy paddling gear through the club?Absolutely! Novice members get a racing jersey with their membership. We also sell other tops, hats and club gear. We have a partnership and club discount with Kai Ko'o paddles when you decide to get your own.
-
When and where are the races? How do we get there? Our typical season of races happen on Saturdays throughout the summer and take place from San Diego to Santa Barbara. The boats are towed to each race and back. Members usually set up carpools for the farther races. Many also book hotels and make a weekend of it (these are beautiful beach towns, after all). We ask that everyone show up to the races early enough to help unload the boats and stay to help load them back.
-
What do I bring to the race?Races take place on public beaches and bays so feel free to bring your own small tent or chair. Race days can be quite long so bring plenty of food and water. For San Diego races, we usually create a pot-luck table of various food and drink for the club. Feel free to bring you familiy as well! Though they won't be able to see a lot of the race, they can almost always cheer you on for the start and finish!
